Jones of Oswestry Heavy Duty SUPRAGRID Drainage Grating and Frame installed in the new Abellio Bus Garage in Hayes

Construction of the new Bus Depot for Abellio at Dawley Road, Hayes has now been completed.
Designed as a dedicated operating centre, the new depot will become the home to the new fleet of state-of-the-art EV battery electric buses operating across West London.
Purpose built, the facility incorporates an open yard area suitable for 53 buses with a two storey office and welfare building complete with a bio-diverse roof structure.
As well as the bus charging facilities the site also incorporates fuelling, engine wash and bus wash facilities for which Jones of Oswestry SUPRAGRID was specified and supplied.
Fabrication and delivery was undertaken in 3 weeks with the appreciative contractor grateful for ‘the beautiful fit and speedy turn around ‘.

Available in any size and as individual units or continuous lengths, Jones of Oswestry SUPRAGRID is a heavy-duty grating fabricated from hollow box section with solid transverse spacing bars and is particularly suitable in industrial situations where strength and quality is required alongside larger drainage slots.
On this occasion the SUPRAGRID also incorporated a central hinged section to allow easy access to the sump below for maintenance purposes.
Ultimately, the depot is another step in London’s journey towards a zero emission bus fleet reducing the effects of climate change by bringing down carbon emissions and cutting congestion on the roads.
